The giant panda Mei Sheng, a male, was born on August 19, 2003, at the San Diego Zoo in the United States, with pedigree number 563. His mother is the giant panda Bai Yun, and his father is the giant panda Gao Gao.
Mei Sheng returned to China on November 7, 2007, and currently resides at the Ya’an Bifengxia Base of the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda.
