Da Mao, a male giant panda with a pedigree number of 732, was born on September 1, 2008, at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in Sichuan, China. His mother is the giant panda Mao Mao, and his father is the returned-from-overseas giant panda Xiong Bang.
On March 25, 2013, Da Mao and the female giant panda Er Shun went on a trip to Canada together. On November 29, 2020, he returned to China ahead of schedule. Currently, he lives at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.
