Male giant panda Bi Li was born on August 16, 2005, at the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda. His mother is the giant panda Gong Zhu, and his father is Ling Ling. His older sister is the giant panda Li Li.
On February 11, 2011, Bi Li and the female giant panda Xian Nv traveled to Ueno Zoo in Japan. On June 12, 2017, Bi Li and Xian Nv had their first daughter, Xiang Xiang. In 2021, Bi Li and Xian Nv had another set of twins, a boy and a girl named “Xiao Xiao” and “Lei Lei”.
On September 29, 2024, giant panda Bi Li returned to China with Xian Nv. They currently reside at the Bifengxia Base of the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda in Ya’an, Sichuan.
