The China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda (CCRCGP) announced that giant panda Hao Hao (female, b. July 2009) returned safely to Chengdu from Belgium’s Pairi Daiza Zoo on December 4, 2025. She will undergo a 30-day quarantine at the CCRCGP’s Shenshuping Base in Wolong, where she will receive specialized care from the center’s keepers and veterinarians.
Hao Hao was recalled to China for continued treatment due to recurring moderate ascites. Her partner, Xing Hui (male, b. July 2009), will stay at the Belgian zoo. (HaoHao)
