A female giant panda Bao Bao, with a studbook number of 897, was born on August 23, 2013, at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo in Washington, D.C., USA. Her parents are the giant pandas Mei Xiang and Tian Tian.
On February 22, 2017, she returned to China. She currently resides at the Shenshuping Base of the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda in Wolong, Sichuan Province.
