Mei Huan, a female giant panda, has a studbook number of 871. She was born on July 15, 2013, at Zoo Atlanta in the United States. Her parents are Lun Lun and Yang Yang, giant pandas on loan to the United States, and her twin sister is “Mei Lun.”

Similar to the English phrase “breathtakingly beautiful,” the Chinese idiom “Mei Lun Mei Huan” is used to describe stunning scenery or architecture.

Mei Lun and Mei Huan are the first pair of giant panda twins born in the United States and surviving since 1987.

On November 5, 2016, Mei Huan and Mei Lun returned to China together. They currently reside at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.
