According to the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda (CCRCGP), on May 18, 2025, under the escort of experts from both China and Malaysia, giant pandas “Fu Wa” and “Feng Yi,” who had been residing in Malaysia, successfully arrived at the Bifengxia Base of the CCRCGP in Ya’an, Sichuan Province. They will undergo at least one month of quarantine at the base.
During their stay in Malaysia, the pandas successfully gave birth to and raised three sets of healthy cubs: “Nuan Nuan,” “Yi Yi,” and “Sheng Yi.” These three pandas safely returned to China before the end of August 2023 and are currently in good health.
It is also reported that China and Malaysia will launch a new round of scientific research cooperation on giant panda conservation within the year. (FuWa, Fengyi)
