The giant panda Xian Nv (also known as Shin Shin in Japan), a female born in July 2005, with pedigree number 978, resided at Ueno Zoo in Tokyo, Japan, starting in 2011.
On June 12, 2017, Xian Nv gave birth to a female cub named Xiang Xiang. On June 23, 2021, she delivered male-female twins: the male cub was named Xiao Xiao , and the female cub Lei Lei.
On September 29, 2024, Xian Nv and her mate Bi Li (also known as Ri Ri in Japan) safely returned to China. She now resides at the Bifengxia Base of the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda, living in a neighboring enclosure to her daughter, Xiang Xiang.
