This photo, taken by Panda365 on June 1, 2025, at the Bifengxia Base of the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda in Ya’an, Sichuan, shows a sleeping panda Xian Nv lying down and touching her right eye.
The giant panda Xian Nv (also known as Shin Shin in Japan), a female born in July 2005, with pedigree number 978, resided at Ueno Zoo in Tokyo, Japan, starting in 2011.
On September 29, 2024, Xian Nv and her mate Bi Li (also known as Ri Ri in Japan) safely returned to China. She now resides at the Bifengxia Base of the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda, living in a neighboring enclosure to her daughter, Xiang Xiang. (XianNv)
