Yang Yang, a male giant panda with the pedigree number 461, was born on September 9, 1997, at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. His father is Zhen Zhen, a rescued wild giant panda, and his mother is Ya Ya, known as the “Asian Games Princess.”
On November 5, 1999, Yang Yang traveled to the Atlanta Zoo in the United States along with the female giant panda Lun Lun.
On October 13, 2024, Yang Yang and Lun Lun returned to China together. They currently reside at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.
